Are you a Controls Engineer looking to move into a more senior role? Our client, a leading Waterford based manufacturing company currently has a vacancy for a Senior Controls Engineer. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Controls Engineer to join a leading manufacturing company who are continuing to expand and grow their facility in Waterford. THE ROLE. As a Senior Controls Engineer you will provide technical leadership and software development to automation and control projects. You will: Be responsible for the design, development and implementation of integrated, automated manufacturing systems and control software applications. Lead multi-disciplined, cross-functional teams on key technical projects. Provide technical leadership to junior engineers. Develop, implement and debug code. Fault-find complex automation equipment. Investigate and implement automation improvements/upgrades. Integrate machine control software with controllers, motion controllers, vision systems, and other instrumentation. THE PERSON. Bachelor’s/ Master’s Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or Computer Science or other relevant technical equivalent. 5+ years’ experience with development, integration and project management of automated control systems including Vision systems, PLC’s, motion control, robotics, HMI’s and SCADA control systems software. Specialised Training in the following areas would be advantageous: various PLC platforms including Allen Bradley, WonderWare, VB.Net Programming, C/C++, SQL, Oracle, network communications and architecture. Experience with medical device and/or pharmaceutical production prefererd. Ability to work with Operations staff, Manufacturing/Maintenance technicians and engineers in cross-functional team setting. Knowledge of software development life-cycle approaches, GAMP, 21 CFR Part 11, machine vision fundamentals a plus. A competitive salary and benefits are on offer for the right candidate.
