Our client a renowned, progressive manufacturing company based in Waterford are currently recruiting for a Quality Engineer. Reporting to the QA Manager this is an opportunity to join an established brand with excellent prospects of career advancement. The Role: Manages Customer Quality Issues. Liaises with customer on all quality issues. Leads corrective action process within business unit. Drives improvement internally to continuously reduce customer complaints/PPM. Lead Quality Improvement Projects. Support Engineering / Manufacturing Projects from quality perspective as required. Identify Best Practices and pro-actively leverage them. Liaise on NPI activities. Support assigned Business Unit Quality Requirements. Provide quality communications to Business Unit. Inform Business Unit of relevant Customer and Internal quality items. Provide feedback to Operations Review meetings. Manage CAR process for assigned Business Unit, conduct reviews, getting owners assigned, responding to customers. Provide support to other Business Units / Customers as required. Support internal & external auditing requirements. Ensure assigned areas of responsibility incur no major non-conformances. Manage close out on audit items in a timely manner. Become certified internal auditor. Ensure Manufacturing Process Quality compliance through auditing & compliance metrics. Monitor compliance to ECOs, CAR's and Core Manufacturing Processes. Drive Root–cause investigation for assigned Customer Issues. Drive closure across the 3 business units as appropriate. Develop Product Expertise and Manufacturing Process understanding. Provide input into Plant Process improvements. Input into Quality Strategy developments on site. The Person: Bachelors degree – Engineering/Quality/Technical or equivalent. Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment. Excellent knowledge of Quality Systems. Strong Project Management and organizational skills. Strong Computer skills. Excellent written & oral communication skills. Highly proactive, mature judgement and decision making ability. Strong analytical, problem solving & interpersonal skills. Ability to work in fast paced environment, handling multiple priorities to effective closure. Timely response and closure of Customer issues. Meet Customers PPM Targets. Develop robust practical Quality processes. Successful leadership and completion of Quality Improvement Projects. This is a Waterford based position but will require some travel to Customer and Supplier locations.
