Description

The Local Government sector in Ireland has responsibility for the delivery of a wide range of services in their local areas, with a focus on making cities, towns and countryside attractive places to live, work and invest. The Local Government reform programme is enhancing the role of the sector, particularly in the economic and community development areas. A vacancy now exists in Wexford County Council for an experienced Senior Manager to play a leadership role as a Director of Service in this Local Authority. Reporting to the Chief Executive of the Local Authority, s/he will be responsible for policy implementation, service delivery and change management. The successful candidate will have: • a career record that demonstrates the necessary senior level leadership and management skills to manage, develop and motivate a large multidisciplinary team; • experience of managing change in a complex and dynamic environment; • a significant record of achievement of results; • excellent stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills.
