Our client, a leading Waterford based manufacturing company currently has a vacancy for an Automation Engineer. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Automation Engineer to join a leading manufacturing company who are continuing to expand and grow their facility in Waterford. You will have the opportunity to work with state of the art and integrated complex automated assembly lines within a cleanroom manufacturing environment. THE ROLE. As an Automation Engineer you will support the design, buy-off, installation and validation of automated production lines. In addition to this you will lead technical root cause investiagations, be responsible for process characterisation / optimisation and support production line ramp-ups. You will also drive continuous improvement projects, manage assigned project budgets and support technical training. Occasionally you may be required to travel to support equipment buy-offs and complete training at vendor / customer sites. THE PERSON. Degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering or similar discipline. 3-6 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment (high volume automated assembly experience would be an advantage as would medical device manufacturing experience.
