What You Need To Know You will work as a Commerical Underwriter within the Commercial Team for our client, an Insurance PLC company in Wexford. Our client is one of Ireland’s leading general insurance companies. The team play a vital role in meeting the insurance needs of farmers across the country. The team is responsible for quoting, underwriting and renewing policies in this sector. This is a permanent role. Your new job Key duties & competencies: Through your experience in the insurance market you will provide underwriting guidance to the underwriting team. Ensure the financial and operational targets are achieved. Foster and maintain relationships with Brokers and customers. Develop and underwrite new business and ensure that existing business is renewed. Maintain underwriting records in the appropriate manner as per internal and regulatory procedures. Strive for continuous self-development and promote and support the development of the team. Continuously analyse risk to ensure profits are attained. Experience & Education required: Experience in working in the Insurance sector ideally in underwriting. CIP qualification or equivalent or willing to work towards same. Proven track record in the training, development and support of team members. Bachelors Degree in a related discipline. Key competencies: Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to fostering and maintaining relationships. Demonstrate strong customer service skills focused on the delivery of quality customer service. Negotiation skills. Ability to prioritise, plan and organise the workload. Support organisational change and improvement. Excellent problem solving skills and decision making skills. Other: This role will require occasional travel to Dublin.
